Tessa [recently] mentored 10 of my students via a Lighting blog whilst they worked on their final Masters project. Her feedback, guidance and knowledge regarding the subject matter was excellent, showing a natural gift for teaching and knowledge transfer. Her comments were clear, concise, in-depth and pertinent to the students project; helping them to understand lighting best practise and theory within a production environment. Student feedback regarding Tessa's mentoring cycle was second to none; they were very appreciative of Tessa's input and help. It was a pleasure to work with Tessa and I hope she is available to repeat the mentoring next year.

Tessa mentored me in 2009, whilst I was a student on the NCCA's MA3D Animation course and very much at the beginning of my CG education. She provided constructive and creative feedback which not only helped clarify key concepts, but also provided further lines of investigation into a range of areas I have yet to lose fascination with. Reflecting on this time, I realise that taking part in Tessa's blog was fundamental to the development of my interest in lighting/rendering and now years later I am employed in this exact area. To have the input of someone as passionate and precise as Tessa is absolutely invaluable and I would recommend her highly.

"Tessa has helped me throughout my course at university with a range of support and advice. She has been encouraging and helpful to help me achieve my own goals in CG animation, not only does she have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in lighting but a fantastic understanding of industry roles and production. Tessa has given great creative critique that has helped me progress throughout my three years at university."

I met Tessa whilst I was on a Character Animation course at Aardman. When the course came to an end, I began looking for my first junior animator job. Tessa was extremely approachable and went above and beyond to help me break into the animation industry with advice about my CV, cover letter and the industry itself. Tessa gave me a much clearer understanding of what recruiters would be looking for and how I could adapt my CV and cover letter to give them the information they needed quickly and easily.
